VeSNet is the semantic network integrating Linked Open Data resources of various domains. VeSNet is applied to Natural Languange Processing tasks and helps to leverage the power of the knowledge base.
The resource is represented in SKOS/RDF and designed to improve the interoperability and usability of lexical data for Natural Language Processing (NLP), semantic search, and knowledge-based AI applications.

Key Features
-
Wide lexical coverage
VeSNet connects millions of concepts and relations, bridging diverse domains and perspectives. -
High-precision mappings
Over 1.3 million exactMatch links have been established, including about 85,000 connections to the Polish–English WordNet (PEWN). The estimated precision of these mappings is around 94%. -
Interoperability
By mapping concepts across resources, VeSNet enables easy comparison, integration, and enrichment of lexical data. -
Practical applications
Useful in Natural Language Processing (NLP), semantic search, knowledge exploration, text analysis, recommendation systems, and educational tools. -
Open and reusable
VeSNet is available under open licenses. Built on open data principles, VeSNet encourages transparency, reproducibility, and further development.
Why VeSNet?
VeSNet addresses fragmentation in semantic resources by offering a unified framework that:
- connects diverse thesauri with WordNets,
- automates concept mapping across domains,
- supports multilingual applications (especially Polish and English),
- and provides a rich backbone for semantic-driven applications.
